The IWA Chess Club is designed for young women who are interested in learning the game of chess. Experienced players are also welcomed in the club that meets on a monthly basis. In a relaxed and congenial atmosphere the boards are set up, the girls are paired, and the the games begin. Chess is a game that offers great personal satisfaction and opportunities to test your emerging skills with other players who are also learning the game, and as any chess aficionado will tell you -- you are always learning! You'll find the gallant knights, the stolid kings, the reckless queens and the poor and oft-sacrificed pawns dancing across red and black squares in room 202, sponsored by Mr. Mooneyham who is himself a pawn in the game of life.
Announcement: Chess Club meetings are held the second Thursday each month from 3:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.
