The local club is able to award $1250 to a deserving young, pre-university student, 16 to 21 years of age. Usually, it is granted to a graduating senior, however, juniors are eligible. The ACLU of Texas is proud to present the Youth Activist Scholarship Program. If you know a student activist working to protect the civil rights afforded by our constitution, check out our scholarship program. The ACLU will be providing $12,500 to 16 high school seniors across the country who have demonstrated a dedication to civil liberties activism. The Texas Trial Lawyers Association Scholarship Program is dedicated to assisting students who have proven the ability to do college level work, yet may not be able to obtain financial aid through traditional sources. The YouthLaunch Scholarship for Outstanding Service is a non-renewable $3,000 scholarship that honors young Texans who lead and serve in their community and who inspire and activate their peers. Scholarships will be awarded to graduating or recently graduated high school students who have attended high school in the state of Texas. More importantly, how will you impact change?" Application forms are available at Kroger stores or online. 24 prizes will be given - ranging from the grand prize of $2,500 scholarship and personal computer to twenty finalists who receive $500 scholarships.
Two $5,000 scholarships will be awarded to outstanding seniors who plan to major in mechanical engineering or a business-related field. Applicants must be ranked in the upper half of her class and have minimum overal GPA of a B or better. Applicants must plan to enroll in a university within the confines of Texas.
