The Falcon Fusion is a student newspaper designed and written by IWA students. Published
monthly, the papercovers school news and events, including athletics, theatre, and the ever
popular Ask Pheathers advice column. In order to be a part of the Fusion staff, students must
select Journalism as an elective course in their sophomore, junior, or senior year. Journalism is a
course designed for those interested in newspaper writing and publication.
Students learn the fundamentals of journalistic writing, reporting, interviewing, and page design.
Strong language skills are helpful; students must demonstrate a responsible work-ethic and be
able to meet deadlines. Being a part of the Fusion team gives students the opportunity to record
a school year's events in their own style and learn the fundamentals of solid reporting and
publication design. Mr. Mooneyham is the class instructor.
