Providing Opportunities...

At Incarnate Word Academy, our students' lives are full of academics, fun extra-curricular activities, sports, service to the broader community, and lots of opportunities!

We offer a wide variety of after-school clubs to all IWA students. Participation in various clubs allows students to practice and groom their special talents, as well as increases opportunities for participating in state and national competitions, and in community events. This is beneficial for self-esteem, and it can open avenues for a number of college scholarship opportunities.

Benefits of Attending a Girls' School

Exciting Field Trips!

Our downtown location lends itself well to conveniently attend fun and educational field trips; our daytime excursions have been to places such as the Museum District, Alley Theatre, George R Brown Convention Center, and Galveston. Our students are also afforded evening opportunities to special speaker events.

Beyond the IWA Community

Aside from the abundance of opportunities within the IWA community, our students are encouraged to use their talents to help the broader community. At least 100 hours of community service are required for graduation. On an individual basis and in group functions, students fulfill this commitment both on-campus and off-campus (ie. working with early education classes, volunteering at the food bank and soup kitchen).

Having Fun!

Here at IWA, our students are sure to have fun while experiencing excellence in all areas of a Catholic high school education. Several dances are held throughout the year; we have pep-rallies, plays, art shows, and more!
