  Values & Spirituality

Throughout our long history, the Sisters of the Incarnate Word and the Blessed Sacrament have been unwavering in their commitment to teach and model Christian values in every facet of the educational process. It is, in fact, an integral part of the school's mission.

Mission Statement

Incarnate Word Academy provides young women with a Catholic college preparatory education helping them grow in their relationship with Jesus, the Incarnate Word, and live according to His values.

  • Values are taught before a book is even opened at IWA by teachers who demonstrate a strong commitment to education and the care of their students.
  • Students are encouraged to value learning for its own sake as well as strive for high academic goals.
  • Students' successes and achievements are recognized and valued.
  • Values of fair play and good sportsmanship are taught both off and on the court and in other extracurricular activities.
  • Students learn the value of responding to others' needs as they participate in the required community service program.
  • IWA students are offered guidance to learn good decision- making skills based on gospel values.
  • School policies and procedures show respect for the needs of staff and students as well as advancement of the institution.
  • Cultural diversity is valued at IWA. It is an important part of our proud tradition.
