Reference & Research
The Learning Resource Center (LRC) Librarian provides a world of reference and research tools to assist students with internet database research. With access to our school databases, various reference sites, and media links - our students are just a click away from their research needs.

A Little Bit of History...
Back in 1924 Sister Agatha Sheehan (1899-1967), English teacher at Incarnate Word Academy, accessioned the first book in the school library. Established as a center of learning and of research, the library soon became the focal point of the institution serving the academic and spiritual needs of the students as well as the Sisters of the Congregation. The library of over 18,000 materials includes reference materials, listings in all subject areas, audio-visual and software materials.

A valuable addition to the Learning Resources Center is the Texas-Mexico collection exploring the history of Texas and Mexico. This collection, established by Sister Agatha as part of the heritage of the Congregation, was formerly housed at the Motherhouse of the Congregation.
