  Campus Ministry

The function of Campus Ministry is to inspire everyone to live their Christian call to their fullest. This is accomplished by being involved in the different areas of participation found within Campus Ministry.  Our mission is to foster student growth in the values of the Gospel. Students are encouraged to develop a personal relationship with Christ and are given opportunities to grow in the faith in religious studies, retreats, participation in the Mass, service projects and prayer services. We aim to complement the family in its primary role in religious education.  It is our goal that the students develop a greater love and desire for participation in the life of their Church.

Eucharistic Celebrations are held once a month. We also highlight holy days and special feasts.  Students are invited and encouraged to participate in the Liturgy as Lectors, Altar Servers, Greeters, Gift Bearers, Sacristans, Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist (Seniors) and members of the Choir.

Prayer Services are held in the individual Theology classes throughout the year. In addition, as a school community, prayer services are celebrated to mark special holidays and other liturgical days. Students also lead the daily Morning Prayer and Saint of the Day tribute over the public address system.

Retreats allow students to focus and evaluate their personal and spiritual growth and are held for each classification.  Once a year, each class takes an off-campus retreat; the senior retreat is overnight.

Reconciliation Services are held once during Advent and once during Lent. This is a time for students of the Catholic faith to experience the sacrament of Reconciliation; knowing we are freed from our sins, we are once again pleasing to God, and we receive grace to follow Him more generously in the life of charity and fraternal union which is the life of His Mystical Body.

Community Service is a requirement for graduation. Each student must serve a minimum of 100 hours of community service over a four year period; service must be provided to non-profit organizations and/or to the Academy.  This will help students to model their lives after Jesus, the Incarnate Word, by becoming more aware of the needs of others through the gift of service, especially the most vulnerable and disadvantaged in our society, such as the elderly, poor and the marginalized.
