The halls of IWA were transformed into a winter wonderland this week by a team of Leading with Service students.
The LwS team of elves called their project, “A Christmas Miracle” and took on the task of fundraising, planning, and executing a special Christmas party for a special group of students from St. Pius V Catholic School (a Cardinal’s Circle school). When they arrived, the kindergarten, first-grade, and second-grade students’s faces lit up with wonder as they saw a room full of Christmas activities, Santa Claus, and even a snow-making machine in the courtyard! Principal of St. Pius V Catholic School, Dr. Felicia Nichols, said: “I cannot begin to tell you how grateful we are to your students. I know that this is one of the many memories of their years at St. Pius V that they will cherish for years to come.”
The Young Leaders Program course Leading with Service asks students to find an extraordinary solution to meet a need in the community. We are so proud of these young women who gave the students of St. Pius V a day that they won’t forget!
