Four Students Named National Merit Commended Scholars

Four Incarnate Word Academy seniors were recently named Commended Scholars by the National Merit Scholarship Program: Marie Culbreth, Amelie Dinh, Iman Haddad, and Claire Michael. These Class of 2023 commended students scored in the top 3-4 percent of all national PSAT/NMSQT scores during their junior year. "Commended students are recognized for the exceptional academic promise demonstrated by their outstanding performance on the qualifying tests," said Director of College Counseling Dr. Talia Pennington-Dorsey. "We are so proud of the four young women who are not only great students but outstanding members of our community."

As far as these scholars' favorite subjects go, Marie loves chemistry and plans to study business and theology in college; Amelie plans to major in computer science; Iman enjoyed her English courses and forensic science class at IWA and is exploring a future in environmental law; and Claire loved all her math classes, especially calculus, and will focus on math-related subjects in college. Congratulations, Falcons!
