On Pitch: Choir Members Earn Prestigious Honors

Everyone who attends school Mass at IWA knows that the Choir, directed by Joshua Wilson, is a talented bunch. Recently they earned regional and state awards from Texas Private School Music Educators.

In November, three IWA Choir members earned state awards: Soprano 2: Katie Dickinson ‘24 and Alto 2: Clarissa Flores ’23 and Flinn Burrell ‘2.

Being selected for state choir means that they are among the top singers in their section from among all the private schools in the entire state of Texas.They will participate in the All-State Clinic and Concert, held at the Eisemann Center in Richardson, Texas, on January 26-28, 2023. The clinician will be Cristi Miller, distinguished composer, educator, and conductor.

In addition to the above state winners, last month, 10 members earned All-Region:
