IWA Presents Inaugural We Heart the Arts Night

This month, IWA proudly hosted its inaugural We Heart the Arts Night! The evening celebrated the Heart of Creativity with beautiful performances from our choir, band, theater, and the IMPACT Dance Team, as well as original poetry readings by some of our students. Guests also enjoyed a display of student art and a look back at the past four editions of IWA’s beloved yearbook, The Margil. Dr. Nancy Zey, a Falcon parent, spoke at the event and encouraged the growth of Fine Arts at IWA by inviting parents to join the brand-new Fine Arts Guild.

Sister Lauren, IWA’s President, opened the evening with a welcome speech and a prayer, followed by a dynamic performance from IMPACT Dance Team of Zero to Hero. Two students shared award-winning original poetry: I Remember the Day You Died by Maya Rahman ’28 and Forgive You Tomorrow by Stephanie Smith ’28.

IMPACT Dance continued the celebration with a lyrical number entitled I Don’t Think of You and Flume, a contemporary piece. Our choir performed three moving songs, accompanied by piano (Phyllis Harris) and flute (Amanda Snook) and the band played an excerpt from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons; Spring.

Falcon Theater shared a sneak peek of scenes from their upcoming play, Clue! Find out whodunnit on Friday, February 27; Saturday, February 28; or Sunday, March 1. Tickets are $10 for students and $15 for adults—grab yours now here!
