Step 1 - Join the Sisterhood

1. Log in to myIWA from the QuickLinks tab at www.incarnateword.org or head to https://incarnateword.myschoolapp.com.

2. Click on the decision tab and select “View my contract” to view contract, tuition information, and financial aid details. Tuition information and financial aid details are in the contract.

3. To complete enrollment and save your spot in the upcoming class, sign your contract, select your payment plan, and submit a $500 tuition deposit and $350 registration fee (deposit and fee are non-refundable). Upon completion of your contract and payment of your fees, you are officially enrolled.

Step 2 - Complete Your Tuition Payments

Once you complete your daughter’s IWA contract, you will be redirected to the Blackbaud Tuition Management at https://parent.blackbaud.school/Login.aspx.

The webpage will ask “Do you have an IWA Tuition Management Account?”

New IWA Family: Select “No” if you are a new user to set up an account.

Current Blackbaud Tuition Management User: Follow prompt to add an additional student to your account.

Once your account is set up, you will submit your tuition payment. You will receive a confirmation for your payment. Please print or save your confirmation and login information.

Step 3 - Attend the IWA Acceptance Party on Friday, March 21st

Acceptance Party RSVP Due Tuesday, March 18! Walk-ins welcome, but RSVPs encouraged.

Join us for a special evening dedicated to our future Falcon students and their parents on Friday, March 21st, from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM.

📍 Check-in begins at 4:00 PM at Incarnate Word Academy.

Students and parents will each enjoy their own unique celebrations—students will dive into exciting activities and make new friends, while parents connect with our community and learn more about what makes IWA so special.

At 6:10 PM, everyone will reunite on the rooftop for a sweet ending with dessert and beautiful views of downtown Houston. 🍰✨

Step 4 - RSVP for Registration Night - Thursday, April 10th

Registration Night RSVP due Thursday, March 26th.

Students will sign-up for their classes on registration night on Thursday, April 10th between 4 pm - 7 pm. Please complete your course selection sheet in the acceptance package and bring it on registration night to discuss your courses with an advisor.

Step 5 - Complete Placement Testing on Saturday, March 29th

All incoming freshmen will be taking the Math placement test. Placement testing gives your daughter the opportunity to test into a higher level course. Scores will determine placement into the appropriate level Math course for your daughter. Language testing for Spanish and French is optional for those who wish to place into a level 2 course and will be held after the math placement exam. Visit this link to RSVP for placement testing.

Step 6 - Prepare Magnus Health Forms

Incarnate Word Academy uses Magnus for our form collection.

Magnus Health: Student Medical & Record-Keeping System

Magnus Health is Incarnate Word Academy’s secure, web-based system for collecting and managing student health information.

What to Expect:
In early June, parents will receive an email from Magnus Health and IWA with instructions on how to log in and complete the required health forms. All forms must be submitted by July 1, 2025.

Required Forms for Freshman & Transfer Students:

Physical Examination – Must be dated on or after April 15, 2025. A copy can be submitted to the Admissions Office on Registration Night for uploading to your student’s profile.
Immunization Record – The most recent record must be signed or stamped by a healthcare provider.
Note: The TB questionnaire must be completed, but a provider’s signature is only required if your student has TB.
Individualized Health Plans (if applicable) – If your student has a food allergy requiring medication, asthma requiring an inhaler, seizures, or diabetes, a healthcare provider must complete and sign an individualized health plan. These forms can be submitted on Registration Day or Placement Testing.
Medication Permission Form – To allow your child to take medications such as Tylenol, Advil, or Midol at school: A doctor-signed permission slip is required. Parents must provide the medication in its original packaging, labeled, and placed in a Ziploc bag along with the signed form. These must be turned in to the Front Office on the First Day of School.

Accommodations Documentation Submission

IWA provides reasonable accommodations in order for students to have equal access to academic courses, without sacrificing the integrity of the education program. Accommodations provided to students are:

Up to 50% extended time for quizzes, tests, and semester exams
Preferential seating
Testing without scantrons
Note-taking assistance

According to IWA’s school policy, students who receive accommodations must have a current psychoeducational assessment from a licensed clinician, including both cognitive and achievement testing data. Documentation must be renewed every 3 years; otherwise, the student will not qualify to receive accommodations

In order to receive accommodations, a current (within the last three years) psycho-educational evaluation must be submitted to the school counselor by April 5, 2025.

The school counselor, Staffany Bowman, in conjunction with administration, will review the documentation and determine if IWA can reasonably meet your daughter’s needs. Once reviewed, a meeting will be set up with you and your daughter to discuss the accommodations that will be provided at IWA and her individual plan.

Orientation and the First Day of School

Our Freshman Orientation (required attendance) will be held as an overnight experience on August 7th and 8th.
Transfer students will have their own experience on a different date.

Choir and Band

IWA Choir: Choir is a class that meets at 7:00 a.m. each day. The award-winning IWA Choir performs regularly for school events, masses, community concerts, and in competitions. No prior experience in singing is necessary, and participation is open to all IWA students.

STH Band: IWA students who can play an instrument have the opportunity to participate in the St. Thomas High School Band. The STH band is a class that meets at 7:00 a.m. each day on the campus of our brother school, St. Thomas. The band performs at STH varsity football games in the fall, and at a variety of concerts and competitions throughout the school year. The band is directed by Mr. Donald Thoede. Summer Assignments - Freshmen English I and Honors English I; Algebra I and Honors Algebra I

ENGLISH I AND HONORS ENGLISH

Incarnate Word Academy English I and Honors English I 2025-2026 Summer reading assignment: And Then There Were None, Agatha Christie This summer, you will read Agatha Christie’s famous murder mystery, And Then There Were None. As you read, keep track of plot details like character’s motives, conflicts and major plot twists by annotating your book; use post-it notes, or write in the margins. I would suggest writing a one to two sentence summary at the beginning of each chapter as well to keep track of the sequence of events. It will help you solve the mystery!! We will use your annotations in class discussions and assignments the first week of school, So, enjoy your summer reading, and we are looking forward to you arriving at Incarnate Word Academy in August.

INCOMING FRESHMAN SUMMER MATH PROGRAM
To help prepare you for the upcoming Algebra 1 course you are being asked to complete review activities using the online platform DeltaMath. The estimated time of completion is 150 minutes. It is highly recommended that you have these activities completed prior to the start of classes so that you may transition smoothly into Algebra 1. My suggestion is to take 20-30 minutes a day the two weeks prior to the start of school; this should give you plenty of time to complete all the tasks and have you ready for the start of classes all while not overburdening your summer vacation time. The completed activities are worth a quiz grade and are due the first day of classes at 8:00 am. Here are the instructions for creating a new DeltaMath account. If you already have an account, you may be able to use it and then enter the invite code.
