Private Tours
9:00 a.m. & 1:00 p.m. during the months of June and July
Prospective families of 7th, 8th, and high school transfers are invited to IWA to take a one-hour tour of our
classrooms, meet our teachers, and learn more about IWA Academics and Athletics.
Our goal for private tours is for potential incoming students and families to gain a more accurate feel for the school community, student life, and IWA facilities. Please note there will be a limit of two adults per touring student. Prior to your arrival, you will register the members of your party via email response to finalize touring.
Tours will be available for 7th and 8th grade prospects after August 14th.
Rising Freshman and Transfer students interested in applying and touring can contact admissions@incarnateword.org for a tour between July 15th - August 30th.
The school year begins on August 14th.
Open School Day #2
Date: Friday, November 8th
Time: 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Check-in: 8:45 AM for student drop-off
Join us for an exciting morning where 7th to 10th graders can explore our school and learn about our academic programs and community by attending information and a tour of campus. Students from private, public, home, charter, Montessori, and other schools are all welcome to spend the morning with us and discover everything IWA has to offer. Parents are welcome to join as well.
Sisters in Service

The Leadership program at Incarnate Word Academy is excited to offer your daughter an opportunity to attend our Sisters in Service Workshop. Sisters in Service is an event for 7th and 8th-grade girls to develop their inner servant leader and participate in service projects that impact our community.
This 1-day interactive workshop is led by current IWA leadership students who look forward to passing on the skills they have developed through our program and empowering the next generation of young women.

Shadow Days
8th grade and transfer students who sign up to shadow at IWA will visit current classes, meet IWA students and teachers, attend an IWA lunch, be partnered with a campus shadow buddy, and finish off with a Falcon Q&A time. Completing this form serves as your student's permission slip.

70 Seniors Earn $15 Million in College Scholarships
Incarnate Word Academy's Student Council earns historic win as first private school in Texas to win State President School.

“Because of IWA, I was prepared for college,” says Katie Bourgeois ‘23, a freshman at Texas A&M. Her assertion was a common refrain from former students who returned to campus for the annual Alumnae College Panel on January 4.

Students thrive in an atmosphere of action-packed classes and labs.
Last May, the Class of 2023 closed out the year with a school record $14 million in scholarships for 75 students. Dr. Talia Pennington-Dorsey, the director of College Counseling, predicts a successful year for the Class of 2024 as well.
IWA's volleyball program levels up for the 2023-2024 school year, bringing in a lineup of new coaches and players.

Incarnate Word Academy celebrated the school's 150th Foundation Day on Friday, April 28. The morning began with the traditional crowning of the Blessed Mother and Mass. After Mass, the community walked to the 609 for the Jeanne de Matel Award presentation, lunch, and games.
Over Spring Break, ten students flew to Santo Domingo for a mission trip sponsored by IWA's Teens4Unity. As part of the service mission, the students taught English classes to young children at a local school called Cafe Con Leche.
A favorite tradition of students at Incarnate Word Academy is the annual International Lunch, or iLunch. Students and parents bring food specialties from their culture to share with the community. After lunch, a joyful assembly kicks off where students perform cultural dances, model fashions, and celebrate.
For the 3rd year in a row, IWA takes the President's Cup at Steps for Students.
January's Career Day kicked off with a keynote speech from alumna Manuelita “PJ” Barnett ‘02. Manuelita, a funeral home director, emphasized three qualities for students to develop: composure, resilience, and focus. These qualities have enabled her to help and counsel her clients, overcome personal hardships, and persevere to complete a college degree. Following the keynote, more than 40 professionals from fields ranging from fine arts to engineering shared their career advice and experience with the students.
IWA’s Young Leaders Program Director Eric Kerr-Heraly has always had a knack for trivia. In November, he got to test his talent as a competitor on Jeopardy.
More than 20 alumnae from the classes of 2020, 2021, and 2022 returned to campus on Thursday, January 5, to participate in panel discussions about life after IWA.
The hallways were buzzing with hundreds of prospective parents and students at the 2022 Open House on December 4.
