Leadership Live!

Leadership Live! is a monthly speaker series that brings a distinguished leader in the Houston community to Incarnate Word Academy each month. The Leadership Live! team plans, invites, hosts, and recaps the entire speaker series for the student body. After the events, they ask the guest to answer three questions for their signature "Leadership Live! Triple Play" videos. Check out some of the team's videos below.

Little Angels Big Angels

Little Angels/Big Angels (LABA) gives students the opportunity to put their lessons in servant leadership into practice. Each month, students design and execute an event created specifically for the after-school care children at Wesley Community Center. While creating memories for these children is the mission, our students are also practicing the important skill of reflection as each event they work to create a deeper and more lasting impact on Wesley.

Leadership Resources

You don't have to join a YLP team to put your leadership lessons into practice. In fact, all IWA students are expected to apply classroom principles and skills in all school activities including athletics, fine arts, student government, and other clubs and organizations.

Enrichment Programs

Incarnate Word Academy encourages students to participate in formal enrichment experiences

Incarnate Word Academy strongly encourages students to participate in formal enrichment experiences during their time away from school. Typically, attended during the summer, these 4-5 day programs are intended to stretch your thinking, social skills, and leadership abilities. We hope they are life changing

Leadercast is a simulcasted live from Atlanta, GA and brings inspiring leadership content and stories to professionals in the local sites. IWA is proud to join this professional environment teaching our students the meaning of lifetime learning.

PwC Young Women's Leadership Conference

The Young Leaders Program empowers young women to lead and serve.

Each year IWA’s senior class attends the annual Young Women’s Leadership Conference at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

The conference, held exclusively for IWA students at PwC’s offices at Wells Fargo Plaza, aims to build student confidence, inspire students to take managed risks, and set expectations for working in a professional environment.

Step by step, I’m learning how to become a strong, excellent leader. I’ve learned to be confident and bold. This school has taught me kindness, humility, responsibility, perseverance, and a lot more.
