FREE Summer STEM program at IWA

IWA is partnering with HISD and Catapult to bring a new program to our campus, STEM. The Science, Technology, Engineering and Math program will focus on the Engineering Design aspect of developing important critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Click below to learn more and apply!

Look 'n Lead Conference

IWA hosted the 7th annual Look 'n Lead Middle School Leadership Conference. Thirty-eight IWA students put on a day of programming designed to help the students identify their strengths, social justice passions, and leadership style.

TEALS Computer Science Fair

Fifteen AP Computer Science Principles students attended a Computer Science Fair put on by TEALS, a Microsoft Philanthropies program that partners with IWA. Students spoke with women from Conoco-Phillips in a Women Talk Tech session, competed (and won) a hacking competition, and operated robotic fingers.

Leadership Live! with Jeff Lindner

Mr. Lindner, a meteorologist who has worked at the Harris County Flood Control District since 2003 and during Hurricane Harvey, shared what it was like to be thrust into the spotlight for doing his job, and gave advice for the girls that no matter how prepared you are in life, you have to be ready for the unexpected.
